Lynn Foley to Discuss Law Firms, Technology, Racial and Social Justice at LMA Tech Midwest Conference

Lynn Foley, CEO of fSquared Marketing, will be appearing on a panel at the 2020 LMA Tech Midwest Regional Conference to discuss how law firms are leveraging technology in support of racial and social justice.

This discussion will take place on Sept. 21 at noon (CT). Erika Weiss, an associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and Chad Cole, Client Development Manager at Jackson Walker LLP, will join Lynn on the panel. Erika is the co-founder of her firm’s Native American Law and Policy Group and was recently named to The Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” list for Native American Law. Chad has been involved in Jackson Walker’s Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, including this 2020 video campaign.

Lynn, Erika, and Cole will explore how tech can be leveraged to create meaningful change, social media activism, law firm marketing in a time of resistance, and what comes next for firms and legal marketers looking to drive change in their organizations, the legal industry, and in the wider community.

In response to the murder of George Floyd and widespread activism against systemic racism, many law firms expressed their solidarity, made donations, sent tweets, and released statements. This panel will explore connections between technology and the pursuit of racial and social justice.

Web accessibility—the inclusive practice of reducing barriers that prevent people with disabilities from accessing the Internet—is also a social justice issue and an essential aspect of disability rights. The Internet is integral to modern life. Increasingly, it’s where we work, shop, and access important information and services, including legal services. Yet many people with visual or aural disabilities face significant challenges in accessing and interacting with websites. During this talk, Lynn will offer ideas for how law firms can ensure that their websites are made open and inclusive.
