In Honour of the Legal Marketers!

I have lost count of the number of lawyers for whom I’ve submitted, and achieved, directory rankings over the years. And I am in no way alone in these endeavours. There are hundreds (maybe even thousands) of legal marketers around the world who work every day to ensure that their firm lawyers receive the recognition they deserve, be it from Chambers, Lexpert, IFLR or other such sought after designations. But who recognizes the achievements of the people behind the lawyers? Well that would be the Legal Marketing Association and its chapters.
And so I was thrilled when we at fSquared Marketing had the opportunity to present an award at the Toronto chapter of the LMA’s Your Honour awards last week. A wonderful time was had by all while we saw the outstanding work of the legal marketers of Eastern Canada. From Advertising to Promotional and Collateral Materials, Events and Digital Marketing, the best work in our industry was in the spotlight. I was honoured to present the Practice Development award to the great team from Blaney McMurtry. No matter how celebratory and worthwhile the event was, however, there is one thing that I thought was missing – the lawyers! I’d love to see more lawyers, especially Managing Partners, in attendance to see that legal marketers deserve, and get, recognition too.
