About Kirsten
Kirsten began her online career in New York during the dot-com boom, and since then has been involved in just about every aspect of web design, development, and content creation, plus a short diversion playing bass in a touring rock band. Over the past decade, her appreciation for WordPress and its community has grown steadily, and she has surprised herself discovering how much she enjoys front-end web development.
Her background is in computer science, but has always been flavoured with arts. Kirsten received a B.Sc. in computer science from Memorial University of Newfoundland – with an English minor – and then a M.S. from SUNY Stony Brook on Long Island – with a focus on multimedia and computer art. The emergence of the web just as she graduated gave her the chance to combine all her interests into one career.
Kirsten has worked on numerous professional services-related websites and ensures client satisfaction through visually appealing web pages and user-friendly capabilities. In her spare time, Kirsten enjoys meditation, horseback riding, music, and making people laugh.
In a previous life…
Kirsten has toured internationally as the bassist in a rock band, performed a Fringe Festival show in a mocap suit, and is currently co-authoring a text-based adventure game about pandemic lockdown.
